SMS Terms & Opt-In Policy
How Customers Opt In
Customers verbally provide their phone number at checkout to join the gugu gang loyalty program. Staff inform customers they will receive SMS messages including point updates, rewards, and offers. Customers may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Verbal Consent Script
Staff must read the following script (or a substantially similar version) to the customer before collecting their phone number:
"By providing your phone number, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing and loyalty text messages from gugugifts at this number. Message frequency varies, typically 2–6 per month. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Our privacy policy and full SMS terms are available at gugugifts.com/sms-terms."
Types of Messages
By opting in to the gugu gang, customers consent to receive the following types of SMS messages:
- Loyalty point balance updates and earning confirmations
- Reward tier notifications and milestones
- Exclusive offers and promotions for loyalty members
- Birthday rewards and special occasion messages
- Program updates and new benefit announcements
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies, typically 2–6 messages per month. Frequency may increase during promotional periods or holidays.

How to Opt Out
You may opt out of gugu gang SMS messages at any time using any of the following methods:
- Reply STOP to any message you receive from us
- Ask a team member in-store to remove you from the program
- Email us at gugu@gugugifts.com
After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message. You will no longer receive SMS messages from the gugu gang.
